SNGPL Task Force Cracks Down on Gas Theft in Multan

In a recent development, the task force of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in Multan took decisive action against gas theft and violations by disconnecting connections of a dozen consumers. The crackdown, led by the SNGPL Multan region, targeted individuals engaged in illegal activities related to fuel gas consumption.

According to a statement by an SNGPL Multan spokesman, seven consumers had their connections disconnected for supplying gas illegally to multiple households. Additionally, a consumer on Old Shujabad Road was found to be using a domestic connection for commercial purposes, leading to the disconnection of their connection. Two other consumers were caught stealing gas by tampering with their meters, prompting immediate disconnection.

The task force also discovered two connections that had been previously disconnected but were operational again through illegal meters. These connections were promptly disconnected once more, and the meters were confiscated. To address consumer complaints efficiently, Regional Manager Hussain Zafar established a special cell with dedicated executives.

Emphasizing the importance of curbing gas theft, the incharge of the task force highlighted that preventing resource leakage is a national duty. The public was urged to report any information related to gas theft to SNGPL for swift action. It was assured that the identities of informers would remain confidential, encouraging community involvement in safeguarding national resources.

The proactive measures taken by the SNGPL task force in Multan underscore the organization's commitment to combating gas theft and ensuring fair distribution of resources.
