The Chief Minister of Punjab's green tractor scheme aims to provide affordable and high-quality tractors to farmers, emphasizing transparency, quality control, and stakeholder collaboration for a more efficient agricultural sector.

The Chief Minister of Punjab has initiated a green tractor scheme aimed at providing small, medium, and large tractors to farmers at subsidized rates. Recently, the Provincial Agriculture Minister, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, chaired a review meeting at Agriculture House to discuss the implementation of this scheme. The focus is on mechanizing the entire process from application to tractor delivery to ensure its effectiveness.

Minister Kirmani emphasized the importance of proper implementation by ensuring that the tractors under the scheme are painted green and labeled with the Chief Minister Punjab Tractor Scheme. He personally assured oversight to align the scheme with the Chief Minister's vision of widespread impact.

For tractor procurement, farmers will have the flexibility to choose high-quality tractors from their preferred companies, with strict adherence to the Agriculture Department's standard operating procedures (SOPs) by the tractor industry to meet the scheme's requirements.

Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, highlighted the benefits of the green tractor scheme for both farmers and the tractor industry. He stressed transparency in the process, including tractor delivery, application processing, and balloting, with a focus on quality control to ensure the initiative's success.

The meeting saw the participation of various officials and industry representatives, including Secretary Shehanshah Faisal Azeem, Consultant Dr. Muhammad Anjum Ali, and executives from Ghazi Tractors and Millat Tractors, to discuss the implementation and impact of the scheme.

The green tractor scheme in Punjab, spearheaded by the Chief Minister and overseen by the Provincial Agriculture Minister, aims to revolutionize farming practices by providing farmers with affordable and high-quality tractors. With a strong emphasis on transparency, quality control, and stakeholder collaboration, this initiative is poised to bring significant benefits to both farmers and the tractor industry, paving the way for a more efficient and productive agricultural sector in the region.
