The rapid urbanization of cities is causing a significant transformation of fertile agricultural lands into residential areas, leading to environmental concerns and worsening food security challenges. This issue was highlighted by Rashid Ahmad, a respected intellectual and former Managing Director of WASA, during the launch event of his autobiography 'From Village to Town' at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

He also drew attention to the critical water crisis in the country, emphasizing the need for efficient water management and electricity generation. Additionally, Ahmad called for a review of contracts with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to address the debt circular and ensure a balanced electricity supply.

Addressing societal changes, Ahmad encouraged people to prioritize real-life interactions over virtual connections on social media platforms. He emphasized the value of spending quality time with family, particularly children, away from the distractions of technology.
