Senator Mushtaq leads Gaza solidarity rally in Islamabad

A Gaza solidarity rally organized by Jamaat-e-Islami in Islamabad's D Chowk took a devastating turn when a vehicle plowed through the protesters, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuring three others. The rally, led by Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, was marred by the unexpected incident early in the morning.

The driver of the vehicle was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement, and the vehicle was taken into custody at Kohsar Police Station. Senator Mushtaq, representing JI, pointed fingers at the government and Islamabad police for the unfortunate turn of events, demanding a quick apprehension of those responsible for the attack on the peaceful sit-in that had been ongoing for eight days.

Senator Mushtaq stressed the non-political essence of the sit-in, highlighting its purpose to raise awareness for the Palestinian cause and show solidarity with the Palestinian people. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the senator urged for the immediate filing of a First Information Report (FIR) to initiate legal proceedings.

The funeral prayers for the deceased JI worker, conducted by Senator Mushtaq at D Chowk, saw a large turnout of party members and supporters paying their respects and standing united in grief.

The Gaza solidarity rally in Islamabad, meant to be a peaceful demonstration of support, turned into a somber event due to the unfortunate incident.
