A recent robbery in Shahzad Town prompts criticism of police response, leading to calls for stronger security measures and intervention from higher authorities to address residents' safety concerns.

On April 28, a distressing incident unfolded in Shahzad Town as three masked dacoits carried out a brazen robbery at a residence, leaving servants tied up and a couple held hostage. The perpetrators made off with five gold bangles, two gold earrings, and Rs80,000 in cash, sparking fear and concern among residents.

The response from Shahzad Town police was marred by delays, with an e-tag only placed on May 4 and the case officially filed on May 5 under case no 545. This sluggish reaction has raised doubts about the efficacy of law enforcement in the area, prompting criticism from both the public and higher authorities.

In light of the escalating incidents of robbery, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations and the Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad have been urged to intervene. Security measures in Shahzad Town are being bolstered, with the appointment of a dedicated crime-fighter Station House Officer (SHO) among the steps being taken.

Residents, however, are demanding more tangible actions from law enforcement to address their safety concerns. The lack of progress in apprehending the robbers has fueled tensions and eroded trust in the authorities, underscoring the pressing need for swift and effective intervention to restore peace and security in the community.
