UHS Implements Student-Friendly Policies in Punjab

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Lahore has recently announced significant policy changes to enhance support for medical students and regulate the operations of medical colleges in Punjab. These changes were officially approved during the 37th meeting of the UHS Academic Council, which was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore.

One of the notable modifications is the strict prohibition on medical colleges imposing fines on students without prior authorization from the university. This decision was made to alleviate the financial burden on students and their families resulting from hefty fines for minor infractions. Henceforth, medical colleges must seek approval from UHS before levying any fines.

Moreover, students are now allowed to take a maximum of 18 holidays per year. If they surpass this limit, they are required to attend additional classes to compensate for the missed time. This policy ensures that students strike a balance between their academic commitments and leisure time.

The recent policy changes introduced by the University of Health Sciences in Lahore are aimed at fostering a more supportive and balanced environment for medical students.
