The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced new Efficiency and Discipline Rules to enhance internal accountability and efficiency. These rules focus on expediting inquiries and disciplinary actions, resulting in over 1000 cases resolved with penalties imposed.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing internal accountability and efficiency with the approval of the new Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020 by the Chairman. These rules aim to streamline procedures within the organization, ensuring swift conclusion of inquiries and disciplinary actions.

During a recent meeting at the CDA headquarters, the Chairman stressed the importance of implementing a reward and punishment system to boost service delivery and employee performance. The focus is on enforcing the new rules strictly to expedite inquiries and disciplinary proceedings.

Prior to the introduction of these rules, there was no defined timeframe for concluding proceedings, leading to prolonged cases. The new rules will establish clear timelines for each step of the process, holding inquiry officers accountable for any delays in finalizing inquiries.

The Discipline Directorate at CDA has been actively handling inquiries, resulting in the resolution of nearly 1000 cases over the last three years. Notably, 103 officers and officials faced major penalties like dismissal and demotion for misconduct, while 631 individuals received minor penalties for inefficiency.

Moreover, cases of fraudulent plot allotments have been referred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for detailed investigation and potential criminal proceedings against those involved.

The new Efficiency and Discipline Rules mark a significant step towards improving accountability and efficiency within the CDA, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and disciplinary actions. These measures aim to enhance service delivery and uphold integrity within the organization, ultimately benefiting both employees and the public.
