Speaker Swati Promotes Fair Play in Assembly

In a recent statement, Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, emphasized the importance of fair play and equal opportunities for both the ruling and opposition parties within the assembly. Swati expressed his commitment to fostering a positive and cooperative atmosphere in the assembly, aiming to cultivate mutual respect between all members.

Addressing the media, Swati mentioned that despite a requisition from the opposition leader for an assembly session, the necessary number of members was not met to proceed. He clarified that the assembly session could only be convened upon the government's request, ensuring that all elected representatives would be sworn in and proceedings documented.

Swati highlighted the importance of upholding constitutional boundaries for all institutions, promising accountability for any misconduct identified in the inquiry into election staff entering the assembly premises during the recent elections. Additionally, he pledged improved communication and access for journalists covering assembly activities, including upgraded internet facilities for media personnel.

Looking ahead, Swati assured enhanced coordination with the press gallery journalists and extended coverage opportunities for the Public Account Standing Committee proceedings, aiming to facilitate transparent reporting on assembly affairs.
