Dubai International Airport successfully resumes flight operations after a severe storm, with collaborative efforts praised for overcoming challenges. Despite disruptions, passenger welfare remains a priority, showcasing resilience and dedication in managing the aftermath.

Following the unprecedented storm that brought the highest rainfall in 75 years to the UAE last week, Dubai International Airport has successfully resumed regular flight schedules. According to Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths, approximately 1,400 flights are now operating daily, with all roads in and around the airport cleared of water accumulation.

Griffiths commended the collaborative efforts of airport staff, airline partners, and service providers in overcoming the challenges posed by the adverse weather conditions. Despite the cancellation of 2,155 flights and the diversion of 115 others, the airport swiftly reorganized schedules, increased manpower, and ensured the welfare of affected passengers.

During the disruptions, over 75,000 food packs were distributed to stranded passengers, although some challenges, such as processing the backlog of baggage, still persist. Griffiths expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience and acknowledged the ongoing support provided to affected communities and businesses across the UAE.

While the impact of the heavy rainfall continues to be felt, Dubai Airports remains committed to assisting those affected and supporting its employees who were impacted by the weather. The successful restoration of flight operations serves as a testament to the resilience and dedication of all involved in managing the aftermath of the storm.
