The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Punjab has issued a heatwave alert due to the recent extreme heatwave conditions in the province. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that hot and dry weather will continue in Punjab until Eid ul Adha. Lahore and other parts of the province are experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures expected to rise gradually. Today, Lahore is expected to have a minimum temperature of 28°C and a maximum of 43°C, with forecasts indicating a potential increase to 46°C in the coming days.

In Sindh, a prolonged heatwave has been observed, with May being the hottest on record. Many cities have seen temperatures soar to as high as 50°C for consecutive days. On May 26, the Mohenjo Daro weather station recorded a scorching 52.5°C, the highest temperature of the summer season. Jacobabad also experienced extreme heat, reaching 52°C. Lower Sindh, including cities like Hyderabad, Thatta, and Badin, saw temperatures rise to 48°C in Hyderabad.
