Karachi, the bustling metropolis in Pakistan, is currently in the grip of a severe heatwave, with temperatures surpassing 40°C and heat indices crossing 50°C. The lack of rainfall in recent days has exacerbated the situation, making life challenging for the city's residents.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a forecast indicating a respite from the scorching weather starting tonight. The oppressive heat is expected to diminish as a low-pressure system, which has been hindering sea winds, moves away from Karachi. The return of the sea breeze, influenced by a distant low-pressure system, is anticipated to bring relief. While the weather will remain hot and humid in the coming days, there are chances of light showers or drizzle this evening, offering much-needed comfort to the residents.

The anticipated drizzle and the restoration of winds tonight are likely to lower the temperature, with mercury levels projected to range between 35-37 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded so far has been 38°C. Moreover, parts of Sindh, including Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Umerkot, and Tharparker districts, may witness isolated thunderstorms and rain later today.

Earlier, the Chief Meteorologist had ruled out the possibility of rain in Karachi. However, some areas in the city did receive rainfall on Thursday, providing temporary relief from the intense heat. Unfortunately, the coolness brought by the rain was short-lived, as humidity quickly returned.

The residents of Karachi can look forward to a break from the oppressive heatwave as the Meteorological Department predicts rainfall and a drop in temperatures. It is essential for everyone to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions during such extreme weather conditions.
