Recent heavy rainfall in Balochistan leads to fatalities and damages, prompting PDMA warnings and rescue operations.

For the third consecutive day, Balochistan, including Quetta, has been experiencing cloudy weather with sporadic rain. The Meteorological Office has predicted rainfall in over 25 districts of the province, leading to unfortunate incidents and significant damage.

Reports from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) indicate that seven individuals lost their lives due to lightning strikes, roof collapses, and other rain-related incidents. In Pishin, 15 houses were damaged during the rainfall, while flash floods caused road closures in Hanna Orak and Chashma Achozai, with subsequent restoration efforts by the authorities.

The PDMA has issued warnings to tourists to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas prone to flooding. Rescue operations have been carried out to assist stranded individuals, with dozens rescued in Pishin alone. Tragically, one man and two children were killed by lightning strikes in various parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Chaman Chagai, Nushki, and others.

Heavy rainfall led to flooding in low-lying areas of Quetta, while other districts such as Mastung, Kalat, Nushki, and Kharan also experienced rainfall. Additionally, a dust storm in Kalat reduced visibility in the region, further complicating the situation. PDMA reported two children's deaths in Sorab due to a thunderbolt, along with a 22-year-old man killed by a lightning strike in Pishin.

The recent weather conditions in Balochistan have highlighted the importance of preparedness and caution during such natural calamities. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide assistance to affected areas to mitigate further damage and ensure the safety of residents.
