The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet in Karachi today to sight the Zilhajj moon. Chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the committee will convene at the Meteorological Department office in Karachi. Predictions from the Pakistan Meteorological Department point towards Eidul Azha being celebrated on June 17 (Monday). The Climate Data Processing Centre has indicated that the Zilhajj moon sighting is expected on June 7 (Friday), leading to the Eidul Azha festivities on June 17 (Monday).

According to the data from the processing centre, the moon is expected to rise at 5:38 PM on June 6, with sunset scheduled for 7:20 PM. Post-sunset, the moon is anticipated to be visible for around 72 minutes. Eidul Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is a significant Muslim festival commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's obedience to God by being willing to sacrifice his son. This occasion is traditionally marked by the sacrificial slaughter of animals, with the meat shared among family members and those in need.
