The Climate Data Processing Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that the crescent moon marking the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah is expected to be sighted on June 6 at 5:38 PM. In Karachi, the moon will be 26 hours and 8 minutes old at sunset, with an anticipated visibility of 72 minutes post-sunset. However, the final decision on moon sighting lies with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

According to the 2024 holiday calendar, Eidul Fitr holidays are set from June 17 to 19. Considering the usual closure of government offices on Saturdays and Sundays, the holidays practically start from June 15. If Eidul Adha falls on June 18, adjustments to the holiday schedule may be made. The federal government will release a notification closer to Eidul Adha 2024 to inform about any modifications.
