Cholistan Development Authority leads in combating heatwave challenges

The Cholistan desert region, under the leadership of Managing Director Naeem Iqbal Sayyed, is taking proactive steps to combat the challenges posed by the current heatwave. Sayyed has confirmed that there is no immediate threat of a drought in the area, thanks to the effective measures implemented by the Cholistan Development Authority (CDA).

One of the key initiatives undertaken by the CDA is the provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Cholistan and their livestock. Water pipelines have been installed to ensure continuous access to water, safeguarding the community against the harsh effects of the heatwave.

Traditionally, shepherds in Cholistan migrate out of the desert region between March and July each year. However, with the onset of the wheat harvest season, the CDA has guaranteed a steady water supply to support the people of Cholistan through the newly established pipelines.
