The Peshawar Development Authority has approved construction projects to ease traffic congestion, focusing on sustainable solutions and infrastructure development. Chief Minister Gandapur emphasizes solar power and road maintenance initiatives.

The Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has taken a significant step towards easing traffic congestion in the city by approving the construction of underpasses and flyovers on Ring Road and other key roads. This decision comes as a response to the growing traffic challenges faced by residents and commuters in Peshawar.

During the recent 11th Board meeting led by Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, several crucial decisions were made to address various infrastructure and development issues. The Board approved plans to build a total of 8 underpasses and flyovers, with 3 designated for Ring Road and 5 for other high-traffic areas.

Additionally, the Board agreed to widen and rehabilitate Ring Road, implement solar power for tube wells under PDA's management to save significant costs annually, and establish an education complex and PDA sub-office at Regi Lalma Model Town.

Furthermore, the Board conditionally approved rules under the PDA Act 2017, outlined an action plan for constructing high-rise buildings through Public Private Partnership, and allocated land for a Forensic Science Laboratory and Paraplegic Centre.

Chief Minister Gandapur stressed the importance of installing solar lights along GT Road, renovating Bus Rapid Transit structures, solarizing PDA infrastructure, and maintaining roads under PDA's jurisdiction. He also directed efforts towards clarifying PDA's responsibilities and developing a comprehensive plan for the New Peshawar Valley project within a month.

The initiatives undertaken by the Peshawar Development Authority demonstrate a commitment to improving the city's infrastructure and addressing pressing traffic issues. With a focus on sustainable solutions and strategic development projects, PDA aims to enhance the quality of life for Peshawar's residents and create a more efficient transportation network for all.
