Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasizes clean water provision by activating filtration plants and proposing a dedicated authority for management.
In a recent directive, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has underscored the importance of ensuring the availability of clean drinking water for the public in all areas of the province. Emphasizing the significance of functional filtration plants, CM Maryam has instructed relevant authorities to develop a comprehensive plan for clean water provision.
During a meeting held in Lahore, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate activation of inactive and faulty water filtration plants throughout Punjab. She particularly focused on addressing water quality issues in regions with salty water and called for a detailed report on the status of filtration plants in the province.
To tackle the issue effectively, CM Maryam stressed the urgency of making dysfunctional plants operational and proposed the establishment of a dedicated authority to oversee the management of filtration plants. Additionally, she directed officials to prioritize the installation of new filtration plants in areas with brackish water.
Reiterating the government's commitment to ensuring access to clean water for all citizens, the Chief Minister instructed relevant authorities to take necessary actions to achieve this goal. The meeting, which was attended by key officials including Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Provincial Ministers, focused on enhancing water quality and availability across Punjab.
