The 2005 murder of police officer Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford, West Yorkshire, continues to impact her family. After almost 20 years, the final man involved in the fatal shooting, Piran Ditta Khan, has been convicted. Beshenivsky's daughter, Lydia, seeks closure and healing as the sentencing date approaches, hoping to honor her mother's memory.

The tragic murder of police officer Sharon Beshenivsky in 2005 continues to haunt her family, especially her daughter Lydia, who was just four years old when her mother was killed in the line of duty. PC Beshenivsky was responding to a raid at Universal Express travel agents in Bradford, West Yorkshire, when she was shot dead at point-blank range. Her colleague, Teresa Milburn, was also shot but survived the attack.

After almost 20 years, the final man involved in the fatal shooting, Piran Ditta Khan, has been convicted and is set to be jailed. Khan, the mastermind behind the botched raid, had fled to Pakistan to evade capture. Lydia, now 22, expressed a mix of relief and lingering pain over the upcoming sentencing. She revealed that she has yet to place a headstone on her mother's grave, as finding the right words has been a challenge.

Despite the closure of seeing Khan behind bars, Lydia acknowledges that it won't heal the permanent void left by her mother's death. She hopes that after the sentencing, she and her family can finally find some peace and closure. PC Beshenivsky, who had only been on the force for nine months, is remembered each year on Lydia's birthday at a memorial in Bradford.

As the sentencing date approaches, Lydia remains hopeful that it will mark a significant step towards healing and honoring her mother's memory. The long-awaited justice for PC Beshenivsky brings a bittersweet sense of relief to her loved ones, knowing that the man responsible for her untimely death will face the consequences of his actions.
