An ongoing five-day anti-polio drive in the Federal Capital has shown promising results, with health officials reporting a commendable achievement on the third day. The campaign has successfully reached 60.07% of its target, with a total of 461,125 children in the city receiving immunization against the crippling disease. Among them, 290,841 children were vaccinated during the current drive, showcasing the dedication of the health teams.

To ensure comprehensive coverage, specialized polio teams have been deployed across schools, public areas, and households, diligently administering anti-polio drops. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, emphasized the importance of community involvement in this crucial initiative. He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly notify authorities if the vaccination teams have not reached their locality.

Memon also called upon community leaders and educators to actively support the campaign by spreading awareness about the benefits of vaccination. Additionally, he appealed to migrant workers to cooperate with the vaccination teams, underscoring the collective responsibility in safeguarding all children and striving for the complete eradication of polio from the region.
