Deputy Commissioner of Chitral, Muhammad Imran, informed the media about the situation, emphasizing that heavy machinery is being deployed to reopen the roads. A high alert has been issued to residents living near nullahs and streams due to the risk of further flooding. Officials from the district administration, NHA, and PDMA are on high alert to manage the crisis effectively.
Reports indicate that tourists' vehicles were impacted by floods in Chamarkhan Nala, but the route has since been restored. However, the Chitral to Peshawar road remains closed to all traffic due to overflowing rivers and canals.
