Deputy Commissioner Memon of Shaheed Benazirabad leads a crackdown on illegal LPG gas vendors, enforcing strict SOPs and ensuring public safety through regulatory compliance.

Deputy Commissioner Shehryar Gul Memon of Shaheed Benazirabad recently chaired a crucial meeting at the DC office to address the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by OGRA for LPG gas vendors in the district. This initiative comes in response to an incident in Hyderabad, prompting the Sindh government to take action against illegal LPG gas shops and agencies, leading to their closure.

Deputy Commissioner Memon made it clear that there will be no leniency towards illegal vendors and strict adherence to SOPs is non-negotiable. Any shopkeepers found to be non-compliant will face severe consequences.

Assistant Commissioners from all tehsils have been tasked with inspecting LPG gas shops in their respective areas and taking immediate action against any violators. Heavy fines will be levied, and shops failing to comply with regulations will be sealed. The crackdown on illegal LPG gas shops without proper licenses will be intensified, with detailed reports and images to be submitted to the DC office.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Memon emphasized the dangers associated with LPG shops in residential areas and stressed the importance of relocating them to safer locations while ensuring strict adherence to SOPs. LPG gas vendors present at the meeting pledged their full cooperation in implementing the required SOPs.

Mayor Municipal Corporation Qazi Muhammad Rashid Bhatti, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nawab Samir Laghari, DSP Police Abdul Hameed Jalbani, Information Officer Sher Muhammad Jamali, and Assistant Commissioners from all tehsils were also in attendance at the meeting.

The crackdown on illegal LPG gas shops in Shaheed Benazirabad district underscores the commitment of the authorities to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance. By enforcing strict SOPs and taking decisive action against violators, the administration aims to mitigate risks associated with unauthorized LPG gas operations. This proactive approach not only safeguards the community but also sets a precedent for responsible business practices in the region.
