Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Leads Cotton Committee Meeting

The District Cotton Committee recently held a special meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Ali Akbar Bhandar to discuss the current status of cotton cultivation in the district. Deputy Director of Agriculture Dr. Amir Hussain provided a detailed report during the meeting, stating that a total of 34500 acres of land have been cultivated with cotton. Despite facing challenges such as a heat wave in certain areas, the recent rains and storms have significantly improved the situation, benefiting the cotton crop.

One of the key points highlighted during the meeting was the availability of ample agricultural inputs at controlled prices. Additionally, farmers were informed about the issuance of Kisan cards, which would enable them to access agricultural loans. To facilitate this process, a dedicated desk has been established at the Bank of Punjab. Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar Ali Akbar Bhandar stressed the importance of providing farmers with comprehensive guidance on crop management to ensure the success of the cotton crop.
