During a recent meeting led by Deputy Commissioner Wasal Khan, the focus was on safeguarding children's fundamental rights. The discussion covered crucial topics such as child protection, child labor, and corporal punishment. Khan, along with Deputy Chief Child Protection Ejaz Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Tayyab, and UNICEF's Child Protection Specialist Sohail Ahmed, delved into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Act 2010.

Khan's directives were clear as he urged the Child Protection Unit and labor department to collaborate with private school networks, madrasas, and district khateebs to spread awareness about the Child Protection Act 2010. Emphasizing the importance of awareness campaigns in educational institutions, he called upon the police and other stakeholders to tackle child labor effectively. The meeting also addressed measures for the well-being of juvenile prisoners, orphans, and children in Zamung Kor and Ashiana.

Furthermore, the gathering saw active participation from various representatives of civil society and other stakeholders, who shared their perspectives and suggestions on enhancing child protection efforts.
