Narcotics continue to pose a significant challenge in our society, prompting collaborative efforts to address this pressing issue. Dr. Sajjad Arshad, Senior Vice President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), has underscored the need for concerted action against narcotics. During a recent walk organized by the FCCI to observe the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dr. Arshad proposed the establishment of a modern drug rehabilitation center in Faisalabad under the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

Dr. Arshad praised the business community for their anti-drug initiatives and suggested a public-private partnership to manage the proposed rehabilitation center. He also commended the performance of an existing ANF rehabilitation center in Chak Shahzad Islamabad and recommended the creation of similar facilities at the divisional level to provide essential treatment to addicts, emphasizing the importance of reintegrating them as productive members of society.

Dr. Jaffar Hassan Mubarak, the Convener of FCCI Standing Committee on Anti-Narcotics, highlighted the global repercussions of narcotics, noting that drug proceeds often finance terrorist activities worldwide. He emphasized the shared responsibility of individuals in combating this issue and shared his efforts to educate students about the perils of drug use. Dr. Mubarak also urged parents to actively monitor their children to prevent them from falling into drug abuse.

The walk participants, including Vice President FCCI Hajji Muhammad Aslam Bhalli and ANF Assistant Director Suleman Hundal, united in denouncing drug traffickers and peddlers through banners and placards, demonstrating solidarity in the fight against drugs.

The fight against narcotics demands a united front, with stakeholders from various sectors coming together to combat drug abuse and trafficking. By raising awareness, advocating for rehabilitation centers, and fostering partnerships, communities can work towards a drug-free future where individuals can lead healthy and productive lives.
