Local authorities in Hyderabad took swift action to address water supply issues at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) following a recent visit. The Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and officials from water and electricity agencies were alerted to empty water storage tanks at the hospital by the Medical Superintendent.

Recognizing the critical need for uninterrupted water supply at LUH, the Commissioner immediately directed the water and electricity authorities to ensure continuous provision to the hospital. A 4-member committee was promptly established to tackle the water supply challenges within a 24-hour timeframe.

LUH, a prominent 2,000-bed hospital serving patients from 18 districts of Sindh, faces substantial water demands due to the high volume of daily outpatients and their attendants.
