IGP Punjab Emphasizes Effective Policing Strategies

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has highlighted the critical role of supervisory police officers in fighting crimes and ensuring effective justice delivery and policing services for the public. Dr. Anwar emphasized the importance of improving follow-up on public complaints, utilizing modern technology for investigations, and enhancing the resolution rate of cases.

Effective supervision and coordination with prosecutors are essential to enhance the quality of investigations, especially in serious crimes like dacoity, murder, and kidnapping for ransom. Senior officers have been directed to oversee investigations of such crimes under their supervision.

Dr. Anwar called for targeted operations against criminals in katcha areas and intensifying countermeasures to combat organized crimes. He reviewed the performance of different regions and districts, issuing directives to maintain law and order and enhance crime control measures.

The ongoing 'Drug Free Punjab' campaign, aimed at combating drug abuse and protecting women and children, was also highlighted. Prompt actions under this campaign are urged, with an emphasis on sending performance reports to the Central Police Office.

The meeting, attended by senior police officials including Additional IG Investigation Muhammad Idrees Ahmad and Additional IG Operations Shahazada Sultan, focused on strategies to improve policing services and enhance public safety in Punjab.
