IRSA reports a significant increase in water levels in Pakistan rivers, raising concerns about potential flooding. Authorities are closely monitoring and regulating water flow to prevent disasters.

Recently, the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has reported a significant increase in water levels across various rivers in Pakistan. The latest data shows that the Indus River at Tarbela Dam and the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam have surpassed their normal levels, raising concerns about potential flooding in the region.

At Tarbela Dam, the water level in the Indus River has reached 1468.31 feet, which is 70.31 feet higher than its usual level of 1,398 feet. Similarly, the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam is currently at 1178.55 feet, exceeding its standard level by 128.55 feet. The inflow and outflow of water at these dams indicate a significant imbalance, with more water coming in than going out.

Authorities have been closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to manage the water flow. The release of water at various points along the rivers, including Kalabagh, Taunsa, Guddu, Sukkur, Nowshera, and Marala, has been carefully regulated to prevent any potential disasters.

The rising water levels in the major rivers of Pakistan pose a serious threat of flooding. It is crucial for residents in the affected areas to stay informed and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities to ensure their well-being during this critical period.
