The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has reported a significant rise in water levels across various dams and rivers in Pakistan. On Wednesday, a total of 334,200 cusecs of water was released from rim stations, while the inflow reached 375,500 cusecs. The water level at Tarbela Dam on the River Indus measured 1467.86 feet, marking a 69.86 feet increase from its dead level of 1,398 feet. Similarly, the River Jhelum at Mangla Dam recorded a level of 1186.00 feet, surpassing its dead level by 136.00 feet.

At Tarbela Dam, the water inflow and outflow were recorded at 150,900 cusecs and 151,500 cusecs respectively. Meanwhile, Mangla Dam saw an inflow of 66,900 cusecs and an outflow of 25,000 cusecs. The release of water at various points included Kalabagh - 213,300 cusecs, Taunsa - 168,200 cusecs, Guddu - 92,700 cusecs, and Sukkur - 37,300 cusecs. Additionally, significant water releases were made from River Kabul and River Chenab at Nowshera and Marala respectively.

These escalating water levels have raised concerns about potential flooding in the region. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of residents living near these water bodies.
