Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced the successful repatriation of 540 Pakistani students from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, following violent incidents targeting foreign students. Special flights, including a Pakistan Air Force Airbus aircraft, were arranged to ensure the safe return of these students. Fortunately, no Pakistani students were harmed during the attacks, and efforts are being made to bring back a total of 670 students through these special flights.

Upon their arrival in Lahore, approximately 140 Pakistani students shared their experiences after the unrest in Bishkek. The Kyrgyz foreign minister reported that 16 foreign students, including four Pakistanis, sustained injuries during the attacks. However, the situation has now been brought under control, with no further incidents reported. International students have been encouraged to engage in dialogue with local students to foster understanding and harmony.

Addressing concerns about misinformation circulating on social media, Minister Dar highlighted that false information was being spread by individuals with hidden agendas. The Kyrgyz foreign minister confirmed that no Pakistani student lost their life during the incidents. Ministerial visits to Kyrgyzstan were canceled based on assurances from Kyrgyz senior leadership, underscoring the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic relations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed Deputy PM Dar and Minister of Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam to visit Bishkek to oversee the situation. Both ministers reassured the public that security measures had been heightened to ensure the safety of all students. Minister Muqam emphasized the importance of prioritizing students' academic pursuits and advised against politicizing the issue.

The repatriation of Pakistani students from Kyrgyzstan marks a successful operation to ensure their safety and well-being.
