Journalists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Enhance Reporting Skills

A recent five-day training workshop in Changlagali successfully concluded, aiming to enhance the reporting skills of journalists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The workshop focused on key aspects such as freedom of expression, reporting techniques, and the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Male and female journalists from various media outlets participated in the workshop, led by experienced trainers.

During the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions, including a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly, to discuss laws related to freedom of expression. They also delved into fact-checking methodologies using online tools, sharing their experiences and learning modern tools for verifying news authenticity, especially in cases of accidents.

The workshop shed light on the misuse of digital platforms in South Asian countries, stressing the importance of avoiding propaganda and upholding journalistic principles. Discussions also touched upon the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Ordinance and the delicate balance between journalistic ethics and national security interests.
