The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is setting up Pediatric Emergency and Telemedicine Centers to enhance child healthcare services, aiming to reduce infant mortality rates through specialized care and technology.

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a significant step towards improving child healthcare by announcing plans to set up Pediatric Emergency and Telemedicine Centers across the province. The primary goal of this initiative is to reduce the infant mortality rate by providing specialized healthcare services for children.

During a meeting led by Provincial Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah, it was decided to establish these centers at key hospitals including Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, Hayatabad Medical Complex, DI Khan, Abbottabad, and Swat. These centers will offer free specialized healthcare services for children, aiming to eliminate the need for referrals to Peshawar by ensuring each region has its own Pediatric Emergency Center.

The government plans to leverage telemedicine services to achieve a 50% reduction in infant mortality. By utilizing technology to improve healthcare access, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aims to make significant progress in saving young lives across the province.
