Food safety officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa intensify efforts to combat food adulteration through raids and strict actions, ensuring safe food supply for consumers.

Food safety officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have intensified their efforts to combat food adulteration by conducting raids in various districts of the province. Recently, raids were carried out in Swabi, Nowshera, Malakand, and Mardan, resulting in the confiscation of counterfeit and substandard food items.

In Swabi, authorities seized 800 liters of fake drinks at a checkpoint on Jehangira Road. Subsequently, another 1200 liters of counterfeit drinks were discovered in Nowshera based on a tip-off. The individuals responsible for these illicit products were fined heavily, and legal actions were taken under the Food Safety Act to deter such practices.

Furthermore, in Malakand, 200 liters of substandard milk were disposed of following an inspection in Sakhakot Bazaar. In Mardan, a mobile food testing lab identified and destroyed bad oil, confiscated 80 kg of prohibited and expired items, and imposed fines on the offenders.

The crackdown on food adulteration continues throughout the province, with a firm commitment to eradicating this illegal activity. The Director General of the Food Authority has stressed the importance of maintaining these actions until adulteration is completely eliminated, showing no leniency towards those involved in such practices.

Provincial Food Minister has directed food safety teams to conduct thorough inspections of industries, distributors, and wholesalers to ensure the supply of safe and unadulterated food to the public, emphasizing the importance of consumer safety and well-being.

The recent raids and actions taken by food safety officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa highlight the government's dedication to ensuring the quality and safety of food products available to the public.
