Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Emphasizes Labor's Crucial Role

International Labor Day was observed across Pakistan with fervor and dedication, commemorating the sacrifices made by the 1886 Chicago workers who demanded an eight-hour workday. Under the theme of 'ensuring laborers' safety and health at the workplace,' people gathered to renew their commitment to fair wages and a healthy working environment.

Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Salim Swati, emphasized the crucial role of labor in the national economy, recognizing their service towards progress and prosperity. He highlighted the divine recognition of labor and urged for timely compensation for their efforts, regardless of educational background or skill level.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, stressed the importance of honoring the dignity and rights of the labor force for societal progress. He underlined the need to ensure their well-being and protection, acknowledging their integral role in national development.

Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, reiterated the government's commitment to economic stability for laborers, ensuring education and health facilities for their children. He announced plans for programs to uplift industrial and agricultural laborers, farmers, and women workers, emphasizing the pivotal role of workers in the country's prosperity.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan, Engr Amir Muqam, highlighted the significance of protecting workers' rights through strict enforcement of labor laws. He paid tribute to the working class for their contribution to the country's development, pledging the federal government's support for their welfare and prosperity.

International Labor Day serves as a reminder of workers' struggles and a celebration of their vital role in economic development, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to ensure the well-being and rights of the labor force.
