Lahore Police Intensifies Security Measures for Public Safety

In response to the growing need for enhanced security, the police in Lahore have significantly ramped up their efforts to ensure the safety of the city's residents. With a focus on maintaining law and order, the authorities have conducted a total of 1,922 search operations this year alone.

These operations have involved thorough checks of 52,863 houses, screening of 25,400 tenants, and searches in various key locations including mosques, seminaries, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, shopping centers, as well as educational institutions like schools, colleges, and universities. As a result of these diligent efforts, 397 individuals have faced enforcement actions under the Tenancy Act, 145 wanted criminals have been apprehended, and 44 individuals have been detained under specific criminal sections.

In addition to these measures, the police have also taken significant actions against illegal arms and drugs, conducting inspections in hotels, hostels, factories, and shops throughout the city. The Chief of Police in Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, has stressed the importance of heightened security operations in preparation for the upcoming Muharram period, underscoring the police force's unwavering commitment to maintaining peace.

Under Kamyana's guidance, daily search operations around critical locations such as Imambargahs and central procession routes have been mandated. Moreover, increased patrolling in sensitive areas and enhanced monitoring at entry and exit points of the city, along with inter-provincial checkpoints, have been put in place to strengthen overall security measures.
