The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, launches the Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024 to distribute 20,000 motorcycles among students in Punjab, promoting gender inclusivity and affordable transportation options.

The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has initiated the first phase of the Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024. This scheme aims to distribute 20,000 motorcycles among students of degree colleges and universities in Punjab. The government has partnered with the Bank of Punjab to offer 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes through interest-free installment plans.

Students from Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore are eligible to apply for the scheme by April 29. The financing for electric bikes is capped at Rs250,000, while petrol bikes are limited to Rs150,000. If a student chooses a bike exceeding these prices, they must pay the additional cost upfront to the Bank of Punjab.

Female students can apply for both electric and petrol bikes, with options including Scootie and Motorbike versions. Similarly, male students are eligible to apply for both types of motorcycles available under the scheme.

The Punjab Government emphasizes that the selected bike must be from the choices provided on the web portal. Any price exceeding the set limits will not be covered by the government. This initiative aims to facilitate students' transportation needs and promote accessibility to educational institutions.

The Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024 is a significant step towards supporting students in Punjab by providing them with affordable transportation options. By offering both petrol and electric bikes, the government aims to cater to the diverse needs of students across various cities. This initiative not only promotes mobility but also encourages gender inclusivity by allowing both male and female students to benefit from the scheme.
