Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurates IT skills program to train 4000 youth annually in advanced IT fields, aligning courses with market demands for better job prospects and plans to increase trained individuals to 40,000.

The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, inaugurated the 1st CM Skills Development Programme at the Government Technology College for Women in Lahore. This initiative aims to provide advanced IT training to 4000 youth annually across 35 TEVTA institutes in different cities. The training will cover essential areas like cloud computing, cyber security, data analytics, graphic designing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and game development to enhance job prospects for the participants.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed the importance of aligning the courses with market demands to ensure better employment opportunities for the students. Upon completion, the program will offer certifications from prestigious international organizations such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, and Unity. There are plans to gradually increase the number of trained individuals from 4000 to 40,000.

In addition to the skills development program, the Chief Minister announced the upcoming launch of the country's first IT City in Lahore, with support from global tech companies. This move underscores the government's commitment to providing modern education and skill development opportunities, including distributing laptops to course completers.

During the launch event, Maryam Nawaz Sharif interacted with students, toured the college's lab and display center, and expressed intentions to convert the lab into a robotics facility. She praised the students' creativity and emphasized the significance of empowering youth through education and training.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including provincial ministers and officials, who lauded the program for its prompt implementation and focus on equipping young individuals, especially girls, with valuable skills for future employment prospects.

The 1st CM Skills Development Programme in Punjab, spearheaded by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, marks a significant step towards enhancing IT education and employment opportunities for the youth.
