The Kisan Card project led by Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz offers interest-free loans and support to 500,000 farmers, aiming to revolutionize agriculture in the province.

The Kisan Card project, spearheaded by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is set to revolutionize the agricultural landscape in the province. This initiative aims to uplift farmers and enhance their socio-economic well-being by providing them with crucial financial support and resources.

For farmers to enroll in the Kisan Card program, they must first register their land at the Land Record Center. Additionally, they need to link their mobile SIM with their ID card number, which will be verified against NADRA records. By sending a text message with the code 'PKC' to their ID card number and '8070' from their mobile phones, farmers can apply for registration.

The Kisan Card offers interest-free loans of up to Rs 12 lakh to farmers with land holdings of up to 12.5 acres. These loans are repayable in easy installments over six months, providing farmers with the financial flexibility they need. The government has pledged to allocate production loans worth Rs 300 billion annually through the Kisan Card, enabling farmers to purchase essential agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and seeds.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has emphasized that the Kisan Card will benefit approximately 500,000 farmers in Punjab, making a significant impact on the province's agricultural growth. The project's primary objective is to streamline farmers' access to agricultural resources and bolster their livelihoods.

As part of a comprehensive strategy to boost the agricultural sector, the Punjab government has also sanctioned the establishment of Model Agriculture Centers and a state-of-the-art center of excellence for research and development focusing on key crops like cotton, wheat, and rice.

The Kisan Card project stands as a beacon of hope for farmers in Punjab, offering them the necessary support to thrive in their agricultural pursuits. With a vision to empower farmers and drive agricultural progress, this initiative marks a significant step towards a brighter future for the farming community in the province.
