Federal Ministers Naqvi and Asif visit Lahore Airport to assess facilities, plan improvements for immigration services and passenger convenience.

The Federal Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Federal Minister of Aviation and Defense Khawaja Asif, recently visited Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to assess the facilities available for passengers. During the two-hour visit, the ministers reviewed the management of immigration counters and observed the search processes conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Airports Security Force (ASF), and Customs.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current facilities, the ministers decided to increase the number of immigration counters at the airport to enhance passenger convenience. They also called for simplifying and expediting the lengthy search process, directing the relevant authorities to submit a workable plan within 24 hours.

A meeting chaired by the federal ministers was held at the airport, where measures to facilitate passengers were discussed. Federal Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif announced plans to implement similar improvements at other airports based on the successful experience at Lahore Airport. The ministers emphasized the need for immediate action to streamline passenger movement.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stressed the importance of increasing immigration counters at both arrival and departure terminals to reduce waiting times for passengers. He instructed that a finalized plan for this expansion be presented within three days, highlighting the goal of providing maximum facilities to travelers.

By enhancing immigration services and implementing innovative measures, the authorities aim to alleviate passenger wait times and improve overall airport experiences for travelers.
