The NAB is investigating a significant wheat theft case in Sindh, focusing on Garhi Khairo in Malir. The probe targets Nader Ali Magsi and implicates corruption allegations in the Food Department's procurement process.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated an investigation into a significant case of wheat theft in Sindh, worth billions of rupees. The focus of the inquiry is on the wheat procurement activities at Garhi Khairo in Malir, with specific attention to the period spanning from 2015 to 2020.

The NAB has directed the Deputy Director of the Food Department in Karachi to furnish a comprehensive report detailing the wheat transactions at the Malir warehouse. The investigation targets Nader Ali Magsi, the individual responsible for the Garhi Khairo wheat procurement center, along with other implicated staff members. The NAB's letter underscores the urgency of the matter, requiring the submission of the requested information by the following day.

Notably, the Food Department's policy prohibits the placement of personnel with corruption allegations at any procurement center. However, reports indicate that Zulfikar Khushk, the Director of the Food Department, has appointed staff members accused of corruption to various centers, raising concerns about the integrity of the procurement process.

In light of these developments, the NAB's investigation aims to uncover the extent of the alleged wheat theft and hold those responsible for any wrongdoing to account. The outcome of this probe could have far-reaching implications for the management of food resources in Sindh and the broader efforts to combat corruption within the province's administrative structures.
