Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarks on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, discuss mutual interests with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and seek Saudi investments for economic growth in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit, as reported by Radio Pakistan. The purpose of his visit is to perform Umrah and offer prayers at the Masjid Nabwi Al-Sharif. During his stay, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to discuss matters of mutual interest. This visit marks PM Shehbaz's first foreign trip since assuming office in February.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a longstanding alliance, with the latter often providing financial assistance to the former during economic challenges. In recent times, Pakistan has been seeking Saudi investments across various sectors, including agriculture, mining, minerals, and aviation. Of particular significance is Saudi Arabia's interest in acquiring government shares in Pakistan's Reko Diq gold and copper mine, which could have substantial implications for Pakistan's economy.

PM Shehbaz's visit underscores the close ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two nations. The discussions during the visit are expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and pave the way for enhanced cooperation in key sectors.
