Provincial Minister Arora leads event in Bahawalpur supporting Punjab's minority communities by providing financial assistance to Christians and Hindus. Government emphasizes education and empowerment for overall progress.

The Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, recently led an event in Bahawalpur aimed at supporting minority communities in Punjab. During the ceremony at Rashidia Auditorium, financial assistance was provided to both Christians and Hindus from dedicated funds. The Punjab government distributed cheques of five thousand rupees per person to 110 Christians from the Easter fund, and ten thousand rupees per person to 140 Hindus from the Holi fund.

Various dignitaries attended the event, including Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, Member of the Provincial Assembly Sadia Mazhar, and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa. In his address, Minister Arora highlighted the government's commitment to the welfare and development of minority communities in line with the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He emphasized the importance of education and outlined plans for scholarships, employment opportunities, and social protection for minorities over the next five years.

Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar commended the government's efforts in safeguarding minority rights and mentioned the financial assistance package provided to the Christian community during Easter. Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa also acknowledged the valuable contributions of minority communities to the country's progress across various sectors.

Under the Minority Development Scheme, an allocation of 800 million rupees has been made, with a specific focus on South Punjab. Minister Arora recognized the significant role played by the Christian community in education and healthcare sectors and stressed the importance of empowering youth through education for overall progress.

In conclusion, the event underscored the Punjab government's proactive approach towards ensuring the welfare and protection of minority communities, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusivity and social development in the region.
