The recent Punjab budget announcement has shed light on the Chief Minister's efforts to uplift marginalized groups in the province. The Provincial Finance Minister, in a speech at the Punjab Assembly, unveiled a series of programs slated for the upcoming financial year.

One of the key initiatives is the Chief Minister's Punjab Schools Meal Programme, which aims to enhance the well-being of children with a budget of Rs 1 billion. Additionally, Daycare Centres will be established to support working women, with a dedicated budget of Rs 1 billion.

Moreover, the Chief Minister Skill Development Programme, with a budget of Rs 1 billion, is tailored to empower the transgender community with essential skills. A Minority Development Fund of Rs 2 billion will also be instituted to aid minority communities.

Noteworthy projects include the construction of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Lahore, amounting to Rs 56 billion, and the allocation of Rs 8.84 billion for the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha.

Furthermore, Rs 450 million has been earmarked for an air ambulance service launch, while Rs 1 billion is allocated for the Clinic on Wheels Project, which aims to deliver healthcare services to remote areas through 200 ambulances.

Additionally, the province has introduced the mobile Field Hospital Programme to improve healthcare accessibility for Punjab residents.

The Punjab budget announcement showcases a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for various segments of society. Through strategic allocations and innovative programs, the government aims to address key social issues and promote inclusive development across the province.
