Prime Minister Youth Programme Empowers Pakistan's Youth

The inauguration of the Prime Minister Youth Development Centre at Superior University marked a significant milestone in Pakistan's commitment to empowering its youth. The Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme emphasized the crucial role of youth empowerment in shaping the nation's future. The government's dedication to providing opportunities and platforms for young individuals, both locally and internationally, was highlighted during the event.

Back in 2010, under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab took a pioneering step by introducing the first Youth Policy. This policy recognized the importance of investing in the country's youth to drive progress. Various initiatives such as laptop distributions, establishment of educational funds and schools, and the organization of youth festivals were launched to engage and support the young population positively.

The Punjab government's initiatives led to the creation of the Punjab Skill Development Company, which aimed to equip youth with essential skills for their future endeavors. Success stories like the Punjab Endowment Fund, which assisted over 450,000 talented yet underprivileged students, showcased the positive impact of investing in education.

Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan stressed the need for balanced development across all provinces of Pakistan, advocating for a unified system. Plans for a comprehensive Youth Programme were announced, including the introduction of the Pakistan Endowment Fund to benefit students from private universities.

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister Youth Programme is set to launch a new laptop distribution scheme for students in government and private institutions, along with financial support for student loans. The Innovation Award Programme aims to foster youth innovation, with a specific focus on expanding the IT industry to $25 billion within the next four years.

Collaborative projects with the National Vocational and Training Commission are expected to engage millions of youths in various sectors, both domestically and internationally. The government's efforts to revive the economy have attracted investments from countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, with further plans for industrial growth through partnerships with China.
