In a recent development in Lahore, 20 officers in the Punjab Food Department have been suspended over allegations of corruption, incompetence, and negligence of duty. The suspensions were carried out by the Secretary of Food Punjab, following orders from the Minister of Food Punjab, Bilal Yasin.

The suspended officers include six assistant food controllers from districts like Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Gujar Khan. Additionally, three assistant food controllers, three food inspectors, and one junior clerk from Sargodha, Khushab, and Bhakkar have also faced suspension.

Minister Bilal Yasin expressed disappointment over the officers' failure to address the issue of sub-standard wheat at flour mills. In response, the Chief Minister of Punjab has directed for the forensic training lab to be connected with universities to enhance oversight and quality control.

On a separate note, the International Criminal Court prosecutor is reportedly seeking arrest warrants for leaders of both Netanyahu and Hamas, indicating a significant international legal development.

The suspension of the Punjab Food Department officers highlights the government's commitment to combating corruption and ensuring accountability.
