The Punjab Housing Department in Lahore suggests raising water tariffs for residential properties to meet water demand and maintain infrastructure. Residents should monitor official announcements and conserve water.

The Punjab Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering Department in Lahore have put forward a proposal to raise the monthly water charges for consumers in the city. The department has recommended to the Punjab government an increase in water tariffs across different categories of residential properties.

According to the proposal, the current monthly water tariff of Rs375 for 3 to 5 marla houses is suggested to be raised to Rs718. Similarly, for 5 to 7 marla houses, the proposed tariff is to be increased from Rs564 to Rs938 per month. The department has also recommended new monthly fees for larger properties, with charges of Rs1,383 for 7 to 10 marla houses, Rs1,603 for 10 to 15 marla houses, and Rs2,183 for 15 to 20 marla houses.

The final decision regarding these proposed tariff adjustments will be made by the Punjab government after due consideration and review.
