In May, Punjab Police in Pakistan made significant progress in combating crime, apprehending thousands of criminals, recovering stolen goods, and extraditing offenders.

In the month of May, the police teams in Punjab province made significant strides in combating crime by apprehending over 16,000 dangerous criminals. These individuals included more than 7,500 wanted criminals and proclaimed offenders involved in serious offenses such as robbery and murder. Additionally, the authorities took into custody 5,165 judicial fugitives and over 3,000 habitual criminals.

One of the key achievements of the police operations was the arrest of 893 individuals belonging to 355 criminal gangs. These efforts also resulted in the recovery of stolen goods valued at over 29 crore rupees, which were returned to their rightful owners. Notably, the year also witnessed the successful extradition of more than 40 proclaimed offenders wanted for serious crimes from foreign countries back to Pakistan.

The Punjab Police Spokesman highlighted the importance of diligent police work and emphasized the need for thorough investigations supported by modern technology. Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Punjab, directed law enforcement agencies to escalate their efforts in apprehending criminals and ensuring they are brought to justice. He stressed the significance of close supervision of crackdowns and targeted operations against criminal elements by Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers.

The proactive measures taken by the Punjab police in May have significantly contributed to enhancing public safety and reducing criminal activities in the region.
