The Punjab Police is targeting fugitives involved in vandalism, collaborating with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to ensure public safety and accountability.

The Punjab Police has taken a significant step in its efforts to bring individuals accused of vandalism to justice. In a formal request to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, approximately 90 fugitives are being targeted for apprehension. These individuals are believed to be involved in acts of vandalism that occurred on May 9, 2023. Deputy Inspector General Imran Kishwar of the Organized Crime Unit (OCU) has confirmed that the whereabouts of 89 of these accused individuals have been pinpointed, with many of them taking shelter in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Notably, some prominent PTI party leaders, including Mian Aslam Iqbal and Hammad Azhar, are among those seeking refuge in K-P.

The Punjab Police has shared a list of fugitives harbored in K-P with the local authorities, stressing the importance of a well-planned strategy for their arrest due to the potential resistance expected during apprehension. Additionally, a comprehensive operation targeting 320 suspects linked to the May 9 incidents has been launched by the Punjab Police. Specific units such as operations, investigation, and organized crime have been assigned to this task. The list of suspects includes both individuals previously identified and newly implicated persons.

The collaboration between the Punjab Police and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police underscores the commitment to upholding law and order. By targeting fugitives and suspects involved in criminal activities, law enforcement aims to ensure the safety and security of the public. This joint effort serves as a reminder that those who engage in unlawful behavior will be held accountable, promoting a sense of justice and deterrence in society.
