Rawalpindi: Woman Beggar Raped in Morgah Area

Sexual violence against women continues to be a prevalent issue in Pakistan, as highlighted by a recent incident in Rawalpindi. A woman beggar was reportedly raped by a man in the Morgah area of the city. The victim, who also worked as a housemaid, was approached by the perpetrator under the guise of offering groceries for poor families. Trusting his offer, she got into the car along with her sister, only to be taken to a deserted area where she was sexually assaulted.

The man, accompanied by two accomplices, including a woman, carried out the heinous act before pushing the victim out of the car and fleeing the scene. The police have registered a case based on the victim's complaint and are actively searching for the suspects involved in this appalling crime.

This incident sheds light on the alarming rate of sexual violence against women in Pakistan. Just last week, another case emerged where a Dolphin Squad member allegedly raped his cousin multiple times, extorting money from her and subjecting her to further abuse. These incidents underscore the urgent need for stronger measures to protect women and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.
