Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon takes a strong stance against drug proliferation, initiating coordinated operations and public awareness campaigns to safeguard the youth from the harmful effects of narcotics.

Sindh Minister for Information, Mass Transit, and Narcotics, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has pledged to combat the rising threat of drugs and safeguard the youth from its detrimental effects. Addressing a gathering at Shahbaz Hall in Hyderabad, Memon expressed grave concerns about the growing presence of narcotics, particularly in educational institutions.

He emphasized the urgent need to address this issue and instructed Secretary Excise and IG Hyderabad, Tariq Dharejo, to launch coordinated operations against drug peddlers. Memon also called for close collaboration with the Sindh Information Department to ensure comprehensive media coverage to deter drug offenders.

To enhance public awareness and encourage reporting of drug-related activities, Memon directed the Information Secretary to initiate an advertising campaign promptly. This campaign will feature a dedicated helpline for reporting drug smuggling incidents, with the aim of disrupting major drug syndicates and their supply chains.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Memon stressed the necessity for immediate and substantial improvements to secure the future of the nation's youth. During the meeting, IG Hyderabad, Tariq Dharejo, provided updates on the progress of anti-drug operations, underscoring the significance of collective efforts in addressing this critical issue.
