Sindh Energy and Planning Minister Syed NasirHussain Shah and Sindh Local Government Minister SaeedGhani recently spearheaded a crucial meeting with officials from K-Electric, HESCO, and SEPCO to tackle the pressing issue of load shedding in Sindh. This problem has been particularly severe during the scorching summer months, causing significant hardships for the public.

During the meeting, attended by Sindh Energy Secretary Musadiq Ahmed and other key representatives from the electricity providers, serious concerns were raised about the escalating load shedding. The ministers stressed the importance of avoiding power cuts during sleeping hours, from 10 PM to 6 AM, emphasizing the need for a reliable system to prevent disruptions during these critical times.

Syed NasirHussain Shah underscored the necessity of a robust mechanism to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the night, while SaeedGhani committed to promptly clearing the Sindh government's outstanding dues to K-Electric and other utility companies.

Additionally, the ministers urged HESCO and SEPCO to expedite the installation of government-approved AMR meters and streamline billing processes to facilitate timely payments. They highlighted how prolonged load shedding has severely disrupted daily life in Sindh, with SaeedGhani calling for legal action against electricity theft perpetrators to protect law-abiding citizens from bearing the consequences of a few offenders. He also emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding human lives during extreme weather conditions, criticizing the extensive 12 to 16-hour power cuts that have made living conditions unbearable for many residents.

The proactive steps taken by the Sindh ministers in addressing the escalating load shedding issue demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents in the region. By prioritizing uninterrupted power supply during crucial hours, settling outstanding dues, and cracking down on electricity theft, the government aims to alleviate the hardships faced by the public. These efforts not only seek to enhance the efficiency of electricity distribution but also prioritize the well-being of citizens, especially during challenging weather conditions.
